Our relationship with our money doesn’t start with a budget - it starts with trust. Who do you trust more with your money? God or you? If we change our view from owners to stewards, we will start to see that it is only in God that we can trust. In God We Trust

With over 2000 verses and 15% of Jesus teachings, it is hard to say that money doesn’t matter to God. It matters to God because God wants your heart and he knows that money is the number one competitor for our affections. Money is a Lordship issue and he wants to know – who is your master? Money Matters

Name one thing you have tried that you wish you could be really good at. Or something you have tried that you never want to attempt again.

We may have very different feelings about the gift of prophecy or the gift or tongues, depending on our church background and life experience. What is your general understanding or comfort level with the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues? Have you seen these gifts demonstrated by others? How did that play out?

Looking into the Bible

From the scriptures mentioned in the video, was there one passage that surprised you?

In 1 Corinthians 14.1-5, who is the intended audience for the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues? Does Paul view one of these gifts more highly than the other? Why?

Applying It To Our Lives

We are bombarded with messages constantly, from TV, social media, our friends and family. What guidelines do you use to discern to truth of these messages and the motives of the messengers? Can you apply these same guidelines to spiritual messages you receive from prophecy or prayer?

What specifically can you do to use your spiritual gifts to edify others rather to make yourself feel good?

The biggest myth surrounding our own money involves the question, “Who owns it?” If God owns our money, our interaction with money will be drastically different. God Owns It

Was their something in your childhood home that was the center of the household? Name an object that represents home to you. The kitchen table, a favorite comfy chair, or a front porch chair?

What does it mean that church should be centered around the Gospel? How does that play out at CCC? How do you see that play out in the “Big C” church around the world?

Looking into the Bible

Ephesians 4.1-6 is one of the many times Paul emphasizes the church is to be unified rather than divided and the center of this unification is the Gospel. What can you do to work towards unifying the church?

Brandon talks about CCC’s “open handed” and “closed handed” beliefs. Can holding some beliefs in open hands help move us toward a unified body? What are CCC’s closed handed beliefs (hint: our Statement of Faith can be found on communitycovenant.church/visit)

Applying It To Our Lives

Referring to your giftstest.com results or life experience, discuss who in your group has one of Service Gifts (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher)? If you have one of these gifts, have you been able to use this gift to build up the body of the church? How can you confirm these gifts in other group members? Specifically, how can your group encourage others in your group to develop and use their Service Gift for the good of the church?

Service Gifts are not reserved for church leaders or ordained pastors.   Discuss the difference between a title and a spiritual gift.

Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Being intentional with how much we get to keep is a way of actively seeking and putting God first in your life. We Steward It

What has surprised you in this Spiritual Gift series? Did you change your thinking about Spiritual Gifts? How have you become aware of spiritual gifts in yourself and others?

Looking into the Bible

Compare Spiritual Gifts (1 Corinthians 12.7-11) and Spiritual Fruit (Galatians 5.22-26). Why do need to balance these two things in our lives?

A tiny spark may go unnoticed, but a flame is hard to avoid. In 2 Timothy 1.6, what does Paul tell Timothy to do with the spiritual gifts God has given him? Are you intentional in doing this with your spiritual gifts?

Applying it to our lives

How can you use your Spiritual Gifts to help CCC reach the goals of 300 Baptisms, 300 people completing Growth Track, 50% of our church actively serving and 1,000 unique students in our ministry?

We continuously pray for God to show us one person to share His love with. Who is your “One”? Who are you praying for? Invite them to church for Christmas!
